The chef has mastered the can opener to open a can of whole Italian tomatoes and put them in frying pan then warm them with no seasoning. Including all the tomato juice. Then add other bits. Staff were fine and the place is cool. Don’t order the shakshuka, huevos rancheros or eggs in purgatory. Sloppy tasteless and sad.
Very nice Sunday lunch and deserts for all 4 of us.
We've lived locally to epicures for 5 years now and over that time it's gone very down hill unfortunately. It was never mind blowing but at least consistent with nice service and atmosphere. The last few times we've been there it's lacked in every area. On a previous visit, it was sea bass with seasonal vegetables and perfectly cooked potatoes. Fr... read more
The space is very nice, as are the staff. The food was very hit and miss. Of the seven dishes ordered two were good (king prawn tacos and halloumi & courgette fritters). Two were awful (mini crab cakes tasted nasty) and lobster (felt reheated, was chewy and tiny, I've honestly had bigger king prawns). The other dishes were ok. Unfortunately the cost Vs quality of food just doesn't stack up.
Epicures has a 3.9 star rating with 906 reviews.
Epicures is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
