Joy B. I have seen Dr. Arora since 1999 for lymphoma. I found him to be very good at being honest about what to expect even if it wasn't good. He worked me thru several unexpected issues that arose with much compassion and support. It has been 8 years since my last treatment but I see him every 3 months on followup. On a sadder note I also lost my husband to cancer. But under Dr. aroras care he gave my husband 2 more years of quality life than was expected. Thanks Dr Arora Dr Arora heads EpicCare formally East Bay Medical Oncology and Hematology in Antioch. He and his staff saved my life almost 8 years ago. Being a cancer patient, given lousy odds, we are highly sensitive to all that occurs. It would be great if they all had the personality of Mother Theresa and the healing powers of Jesus but that is just wishful thinking. Pretty good office, tough receptionist I agree with the previous review that the doctors are very good-you just have to get past the receptionist first. I called to make an appointment for my husband and she was quite short with me. Finally, after I didn't respond fast enough to her question, she just put me on hold and didn't notify anyone in the office that I was on hold. When the next person took my call, he had no idea what was going on. Luckily, he was very nice and I had my appointment scheduled quickly from there.
Dr. Ravi Arora Dr. Arora specializes in oncology. He is very knowledgeable about is field of work however he has a placid expression and does not show much emotion including compassion for his patients. His office is conveniently located close to the hospital. His office has three licensed nurses that do all the chemotherapy directly in the office. They are well trained and very knowledgeable regading all the chemotherapy medication options and treatment procedures..
Clayton Valley Medical Group For the most part, this is a good doctors office. Almost everytime that I have called, they have been able to get me in to see them within a couple of hours. My husband even had a good experience with one of the doctors and that is hard to come by. The last time that I went in the receptionist was a little rude though after she told told me that they had no appts for the day and that I should go to the clinic.
