I was the victim of a reckless driver and lost my Toyota Sequoia in a near fatal collision while stopped at a red light, and survived (thank God), and asked the Solana Beach guys for a comparable rental. There wasn’t one immediately available, but they went out of their way to drive a Toyota 4Runner down from Carlsbad (about 20 miles) for me that had just been returned. Rented a car, got there, and the rep had left for the day with no explanation so I could not pick up my car. I alerted Support, and a Manager was supposed to call me - no one contacted me. I needed the car first thing in the morning the next day, so I had to scramble to find a new rental with another vendor. 2 other people were also waiting for vehicles that they could not pick up because no one was there.
