This was my experience with Gretchen over my entire pregnancy. -vaped during two of my appointments and when I requested she stop she said it was “natural”. She did stop though. -spent one of my appointments talking about how her husband forgot their anniversary/other marital struggles. -told me I needed a repeat glucose test and then changed her mind when she forgot the drink. -at the end of my pregnancy told me I wasn’t eligible for a home birth because of something the ER at Baylor said wasn’t a big deal when I got there.... read more

Gretchen is the best midwife I could ever ask for. She was my midwife for both my pregnancies and is such an informative, mom first midwife. She truly makes you feel like family and cared for. She is full of wonderful and important and factual information and in your biggest cheerleader. I would have more babies just to have her as my midwife again.

I can’t say enough about how amazing Gretchen at Ennis Midwifery is. We started seeing her before we experienced a miscarriage, and while that time was incredibly difficult, Gretchen made everything feel so much more manageable. Her kindness and support were everything we needed during such a heartbreaking experience. I truly don’t think it would have been the same if we had been using an OB. Im so grateful to have worked with Gretchen to birth my son. We talked through everything in detail as my pregnancy progressed. I felt informed and heard. She was available whenever I needed her to ask any question big or small. We did unfortunately have to transfer to the hospital last minute but she stayed with me to help navigate the craziness of the hospital and all the fears associated it. Im grateful for her help, her encouragement, her care and her support.

I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. I had read amazing reviews and felt confident when I first chose Gretchen Ort of Ennis Midwifery as my midwife for a home water birth in September 2024.
