Worked there maybe three months and this is by far the most backwards company I've ever been too very old machines atmosphere just sucks the guy that claims to be the boss is a slave runner and has no communication skills at all as well as the building looses power sometimes and there's always a leak in the roof somewhere very old fashioned place so much as they let you smoke inside the building while working it's insane money is ok but you have to get over the fact that the boss will try to belittle you if you give him an o... read more
No ac, no health care benefits, machines from the 80's. Unconventional practices of setting up jobs in the machines, old ways of doing everything! This is a sweat shop with the old man behind you with a whip, no joke. The owner has a temper that's always on edge and he will (no matter how good you are) ride your behind like a jockey on the horse.
Steve Engel is, by far, the worst machine shop owner in South Bend. He has a personality disorder of some kind and treats his employees like trash, he is a short tempered, jackass. His equipment is 40 years behind in technology as compared to his competitors in the area. The man operates outdated Okuma Cadet machines from the 1980s he probably found in a gutter for a couple grand. Equipment is poorly maintained, dirty, shop is disorganized and all around a bad vibe.
