My 87yr old father was lucky to be a candidate for Health South’s Rehab program after spending 2 weeks in the hospital from acute renal failure. He undergoes 3.5 hours (5 sessions) of physical, occupational and mental acuity therapy daily and the results have been nothing short of a miracle! He is rapidly rebuilding physical strength, confidence, and the ability to mobilize himself all while undergoing in-room dialysis 3 days a week. This place is the best! My 25 yr son was admitted here after being in an induced coma.We never thought he would walk or talk again after they removed him from the ventilator. Health South was recommended by friends here in Sarasota I went on line and was frightened by some of the reviews. The place he was is the worst hospital in Florida. Great hospital that took amazing care of my Dad. I couldn't have asked for a more caring place for him to go after his stroke. We had plenty of choices and went out on a limb and chose this place after taking a tour. Great people and a great place!
Great physical therapists, great receptionists, & very nice people!
I could write a volume of great reviews for this hospital. My husband was there in Jan. for 10 days, and my 92 y.o. father-in-law just recently for 2 wks. This hosp. was recommended to us for my husband by quite a few people who had experienced the great care that my loved ones rec'd. ALL of the staff, from the person at the front desk to the doctors in charge, were PLEASANT, SMILING, CARING, HELPFUL, etc., etc . They were always there for us. I was an inpatient for 5 days receiving physical therapy. It was a positive experience - the therapists and medical staff were super. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who has rehabilitatiion needs. Johnice Carpenter
I LOVE Dr. Hsueh (think Shoe). #1 He is a Opthamologist not an Optomitrist. Therefore he is a Surgeon. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is they could have a better frame collection. It's your prescription though and if you don't like what they have you are not pressured to buy from eyeglasses personal. I went to Health-South for putpatient threapy 0 monyhs after a stroke that paralyzed my left side. I hsd already had inpatient therapy ay a nursing home for 3 months and 3 weeks intensive therapy at Bsaylor Hospital. I chose Healh South because I thought it had alo of new high-tech equipment. i can't believe a hospital care center can be so understaffed,uncaring,no communication skills what so ever for patients needs. I also see that nurses don't READ CHARTS OF THEIR PATIENTS IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THE CARE THEY NEED. their only a hand full of staff that are capable to handle a certified nurse's job. as for physical therapy it is understaffed and paid well for no results.
