Our standby generator wasn't turning on during power outages, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of having one. The tech figured out the problem faster than I expected and got it running again that same day. He also explained what caused it and gave me a couple things to watch for, which was nice since I know basically nothing about how these units work. Price didn't make me flinch either. They replaced the automatic transfer switch on our generator because the old one was failing to detect outages correctly. New switch picks up the signal and the generator is running within seconds now. The part that stuck out to me was how they labeled every circuit on the panel before closing it up.

We ended up getting a standby generator installed after a bad storm knocked our power out for almost two days last summer and we lost a freezer full of meat which was not a fun discovery. The unit they set up is a 22kW Generac and it covers the entire house including the AC which was the main thing I wanted because my mom stays with us and she really cannot handle the heat.
