Can’t even verify my identity with the third party verification because everything is technologically outdated! Constantly having humans repeat scripts and actions when they haven’t worked 5 times is ridiculous.

Such a poor display of professionalism. I called to correct an error they made, but the person who answered didn’t say a word and then hung up, after waiting for the prompt to finally become available. Some basic competency would be appreciated—please hire people who are qualified for the job.

After a month, my case is still "pending review". I was wrongfully terminated and have an ongoing superior civil court case. I asked when I can expect the review to finally be completed, they said they didn't know and that if I need to pay bills I should call united way...thanks a lot.

These people designed the system in a way that makes it literally impossible to get unemployment benefits which you are forced to pay for out of your paycheck. NC, by every metric in the US has the lowest acceptance rate for unemployment benefits and even if you get accepted you get paid nothing and get paid for the shortest duration out of all the states. Who needs financial security after losing a job, just easily find a job immediately after losing one in this economy and job market. And of course, we can't blame the stat... read more

From an employer’s perspective, the NC Division of Employment Security is an absolute joke - awarding a non-compliant employee unemployment benefits after being employed only 7 weeks. Employers - think twice before opening a business in NC.
