A machine rented from Empire had a major diesel leak and spilled onto a parking lot and into the drains. As admitted to by our sales person and his supervisor, the leak was known but the equipment was still rented to us. Once we identified the leak, we reported the issue to Empire, but they refused to report locally or to the National Response Center/EPA. When I brought this to their attention they laughed.
