Dr. Emily Silverman-Okeke is board certified in both internal medicine and obesity medicine. Yet she herself is not on the healthy side. The office policy states that in order for me to get a letter with the names of medications Dr Silverman prescribed me, I HAVE TO COME IN AND SEE THE DOCTOR AND PAY THE COOPAY to get a simple letter regarding my medication. This is ssoooo wrong. They are just looking for more money.
This has been the worst medical experience I’ve ever had. I had been on the same thyroid medication for over 25 years without any issues. After I started seeing Dr. Silverman, my medication brand was changed. I didn’t connect the change to my symptoms at first, but over time I noticed significant hair loss. I was referred to Dr. Silverman by my primary physician because of possible hormonal imbalance issues leading to excessive hair shedding. From the moment I arrived she was indifferent and emotionally detached. She made inappropriate comments about my age and suggested that I should seek counseling and discuss my self image issues with a psychologist so I could discover more important personal attributes than concern over going bald.
