Great night on Arthur Avenue – Emilia's was the first restaurant I ever went to on Arthur Avenue, after hearing for so long how great the Italian food was there. I was certainly not disappointed. We started off our meal with a small bowl of tomatoes and FRESH mozzerella that was too good to find anywhere else but on Arthur Ave. I had the penne vodka for dinner, and I can honestly say that it was the best penne vodka I'd ever had. My boyfriend and I both got the black forest cake for dessert, and it was absolutely fantastic! ... read more
this was our first restaurant experience in the neighborhood. we arrived and to our dismay, there was no waiting area, except just inside the door where we were standing over other diners. the hostess didn't seem like a very professional hostess. we ended up waiting well over an hour to be seated. the hostess sat at a table with diners the entire time we waited. we finally ended up in a 2 person table in the back of the restaurant. i must say, the service was absolutely horrible. after waiting for another 30 minutes, our ord... read more
Home style southern italian! – Having spent endless summers in Sicily, I can vouch for this place. If you want great southen Italian at a great price and family-friendly enviroment, then have a meal at Emilia's. If you want an empty dish at a high price then go to an upscale place in the city. I had to try the "arancine and panelle" as well as the stuffed peppers as an appetizer to really see what this place was made of. Absolutely the real thing! We had the stuffed rainbow trout and lobster ravioli and baby shrimp in vodka ... read more
This experience was the best Italian I've ever had – I seek out great Italian food. Living in California, I eat my way through New York. At Emilia's the lobster ravioli made my knees weak. The stuffed chicken Gamberi is fit for even the toughest meat loving man crowd, and the stuffed mushrooms with gorgonzola were amazing. Add some Montepulciano....you are in heaven. It was worth the train ride. Margie Corona, CA
Best Italian Food in NYC – I went to school at Fordham 15 years ago and had fond memories of fantastic Italian food at Emilia's. My wife (also a Fordham grad) and I returned here with some family last weekend and it was just as good as we remembered. I had the best penne ala vodka I've ever had in my entire life. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and the price for four people with drinks was very reasonable. The service was very attentive eventhough it was very crowded (even at 5pm). I can't wait to go back again!
No Better Than Okay – I had heard about this restaurant, was in the neighborhood and decided to give it a shot. The food and service were okay, and it was not cheap. One appetizer and two main courses the house carafe wine for $100. Can't say that I would go back. I had the braised lamb shank which was underdone and came w/ saffron rice and overcook vegetables. Uninspired. This was not good Italian cuisine.
Best Italian Food!!! – I am Italian and have travelled the world...Emilia's Restaurant hands down has the best food anywhere. The owner/chef, Nunzio and his wife Patricia makeyou feel like part of the family...they will go out of there way to make you feel at home. The fried calamari can't be beat. The sauce is better than my mother's (I'd never tell her). Reservations are always good but they will do their best to get you in. If you want the best you have to go to Emilia's.
Great Italian Food! – My family and I go to the bronx all the time just to eat at Emilia's! We stumbled upon Emila's while browsing at the Feast of St. Anthony's. The first time I ate there I ordered Rigatoni alla vodka and I thought it was the best I have ever tasted. The prices are reasonable and the service was quite friendly and prompt. I give Emilia's two thumbs up!
Great Food, great Price – Emilia's on Arthur Ave, I just Happened to stumble upon. I sat down for their lunch specials. i got Fried calamari, which wasn't bad. But the cheese ravioli with pesto cream sauce was really good. The best part though was the best tiramisu I've ever had. Hands down. creamy rich, and not too much liquer. Only cost me $30 bucks. Hit this spot.
