Who could resist a roadside attraction of this order? I neared doubled over with laughter at the fact some subsequent generation is milking the pure and good kaleidoscope with a resort spa and gift mall. It is very disappointing they haven't invested more in the kaleidoscope -- I would like to see it powered by natural light and real giant marbles and colored glass, and having to show up at noon when the sun is right. As it is, a mirrored digital projection, is probably only like 10% of it's potential.
The lady running this place was so cool. She made sure me and my supermodel date had the utmost privacy during our viewing, leaving us the room all to ourselves and standing outside body guarding the door from the paparazzi, who had been following us around the Catskills all weekend. Also, I had no idea until after the show had ended, but my date was having a bad trip for the first few minutes of it. Place was easy to find, plenty of parking has many gifts for him/her and and artist made Kaleidoscopes for sale, was really worth to come see and have fun taking photos with family!
VERY disappointing. I had gone to the Emerson Kaleidoscope many years ago and had a really great experience. So I was really excited to take my son so he could experience it as I did. But it is completely different than it was. There used to be a fun little museum and country store with lots of neat things. It was a really fun and interesting place.
