Really accessible healthcare when you need it. I've been able to get in on a weekend with less than 50 minutes notice for issues like strep, stitches and flu. Parents, keep this number in your contacts. The MDs and NPs who have treated my kids have all been great and they don't rush you out like they do at primary care or in the ER.
Do not go to Emerson Urgent Care unless you want to spend hours on the phone with your insurance company and have them call you 5 days later that you have covid. This is not your typical urgent care they book your urgent care visit was if you are seeing a private physician. You will receive daily calls from Mass General Referrals Department requesting a referral from your primary care physician. Everyday. It is absolutely ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and visit Natick Urgent Care or Convenient MD.
I turned up at opening and was first through door. They said first appointment at 1250 and I should come back then. I asked about waiting as a walk-in and was told probably a two hour wait, it was shorter than this when I explained purpose of visit. Nurse and Doctor were both very nice and helpful. Unfortunately they missed bacterial pneumonia which was diagnosed by PCP two days later after no improvement. I try and avoid urgent care centers as I prefer to see my own doctor and avoid long waits and crowding. Well that all changed today when my father convinced me to go for a three week bout of nearly every illness one can get. I was able to book an appointment for the same hour, and the front desk was super flexible when I was running late. Once I arrived, I was taken in within 2 mins and brought to a clean, private space.
