This isn’t senior living. it’s suffering. My grandmother’s 2nd-degree burns prove it That wasn’t a typo. And yes, you read it right. My grandmother was handed “soup” so hot it left her with second-degree burns through her jeans. Common serving temperature for soup is around 160 degrees, hot enough to cause instant injury. I would not recommend working here or placing family members here. The facility is dirty and has bed bugs. When I reported it to the director, I was told they had already ‘used all of their pest inspections for the month,’ and residents were even placed back in those same rooms. Management was horrible. A staff member named Donna Lisa created a hostile work environment, retaliating against employees who couldn’t pick up shifts or make there shifts. My father has been living at Brookdale Arrowhead Ranch for almost a year. Let me start by saying that the Executive Director, Sylvia, is by far the most caring, dedicated, supportive & understanding person that I have met in such a long time. She literally goes above & beyond to help the residents & their family navigate through all facets of assisted living/memory care. Emeritus was bought by Brookdale, lawsuits and all. I will say a lot depends upon the dedication of the administrator. Horrible experience for my elderly mother at Emeritus. Why would Brookdale buy such a mess. Maybe $ ? Be careful. Do your research.
