I've been to this hospital a bunch of times as I have complex medical conditions. The reason for the one star is because some of the ER doctors here treat patients like they're drug seeking. I've experienced it myself and seen it on the other reviews. These doctors need to learn not to judge people. Especially people with proven medical issues. No one wants to be in the ER. I've come to this ER a bunch of times over the years and a few times in the past few months. I have many chronic complex medical conditions that cause me to become unwell often/quickly. I came in a little over a month ago thinking I had a possibile kidney infection as I've had them many times before and was weak, nauseas and in a lot of pain. They were so caring, kind and genuinely happy providers who wanted nothing but for me to get better. Stephanie and the other nurses went above and beyond with ensuring nothing went under their noses and checked out every concern or pain I had. Anything I needed, they took care of. Whether I was cold or hungry or still in pain. I genuinely was in such good hands. Very comfortable and safe experience. Absolutely terrible. From the rooms floor dirty to dirty linens stuffed full in the bin. I had an iv placed in my arm in the ambulance. When they got me in the er and a nurse came to draw my blood ahe kept pulling on the iv to make it go faster. After that the site hurt. They took me later on after I sat in the hallway for awhile into a room that was dirty. Then, they came to do a ct scan of my head . I told the tech if they were going to use contrast to please check the iv it looked loose. She put saline in the iv to flush ... read more
What a miserable excuse for an Emergency room. So understaffed, the line of injured and sick patients was literally out the door and several people had to wait outside for hours. I thought UVA taking over would be better, turns out they just care about maximizing profits.
