On June 25, 2026, I took my 82-year-old mother to the St. Lukes Health Freestanding Emergency Room because she had fallen after a dizzy spell and had landed on her face. By the time we got to the ED her nose was clearly deformed, and both eyes were swollen and starting to bruise. We check in and it took an hour to get to a room, an hour to be seen by a physician.
