waited over 24 hours without seeing a doctor, due to lack of beds, This system is doomed, they say the healthcare isn't bad but deep down they know it's gone, This place is HELL is all I can explain how it is, Nurses are extremely rude, I get it overwhelmed but don't take it out on the patients!!!!! if you are a triage level 4 , expect to be there for 2 days, I was a level 2 (Emergent) and I was still waiting 24 hours beyond...next time I will bring a sleeping bag and a pillow !!

The switchboard operator is extremely polite & professional. Instead of giving you a number (which most do) she always connects you to the unit. Well done.

Better off dead. Bleeding internally in the waiting room since 2pm the previous day. Here it is, 10:15am the following day and still nothing. We’ve even been denied basic Tylenol for the headache waiting almost twenty hours to be seen has caused. We keep getting told they’ll “follow up” on the Tylenol situation. That was two hours ago. Four if you count the first two times we asked. Must get individual tablets shipped in from Halifax, you know, an actual hospital with real doctors and medications. BETTER OFF DEAD!

I can appreciate the staff being extremely busy and I believe they are doing an excellent job under tough conditions. The only thing I would recommend is to post on a screen in the emergency department a list of the patients waiting to see a doctor in order of priority. I understand this list is a moving target and can change as higher priority patients arrive but at the very least , you the patient can observe the list and decide if you want to stay and wait or leave and make some other arrangements.
