Captian Greg suggested that we should take a Seaplane to meet up with the boat. What a great idea and adventure. Captain met us on the dock and plane, very warm reception. Making our way to the sailboat Chef Roeh was standing on the deck waving. The boat was beautiful, clean and well maintained. It also was a Stand out in every bay and channels. The Emerald Isle Sailing Charter with Captain Greg and his boat was a great experience for our group. We signed up for the 3 day sail and were treated to exciting sailing, beautiful views, animal sightings, kayaking, hiking and amazing food! Captain Greg and Chef Roeh are both very knowledgeable and enjoyable to converse with. what an amazing trip! this is such a cool opportunity to be on a sailboat in the islands. the boat is quite comfortable with good spaces to be outside and in. we loved the activities, each day we sailed a bit, some kayaking and some exploring on land. it was a great combination. the food was excellent with a very talented chef. we loved it.
Our 6 day charter with Emerald Isle Sailing Charters was a first for us. We are sailors, and we have done a bareboat charter in the Abacos, but we were glad to have a very experienced captain in the San Juan Island waters. They are treacherous. In addition, to having a lot of experience in the currents and eddies between the islands, both Captain Greg and First Mate Roeh have lots of local knowledge to share and directed us to hiking trails, light houses, shops, and historical sights. Captain Greg's skill and experience shared on this trip far exceeded my families expectation. We were treated to natural history and local lore, hiking and photography. The meals were wonderful. The chef Roeh created meals from fresh and local sources. Roeh's gentle kindness with an illness onboard(which quickly resolved) was skilled and professional.
