Emerald Hospital: Emergency Department

Worst emergency department in Australia. I’ve been here on 3 separate occasions now and it’s always a 2hr+ wait. There excuse every time is they are always under staff. The old receptionist here has no compassion, is cold and rude to everyone that walks in. She obviously hates her job and needs to retire. Bugs all over the floor in waiting area. At least try and be a hospital emerald.

Today I was introduced to a department of absolute healthcare professionals I’ve never seen prior nor thought ever existed. Holly the sensational lovely Doctor and her team were absolutely lovely caring and went way way above and beyond to to accommodate my issues, what an incredible team you girls are. Although today was quite a rough day for me, please accept my sincere gratitude for your efforts from the deepest of my heart ❤️🙏

Have been up there for two days trying to see a doctor however they seem to deem me non important for a better word and take in others before me. How can they deem me not unwell without seeing me. I don't believe this should be a nurses choice, sick is sick no matter who you are. Again going home as she told me others would be going in before me. It's a bloody long way to mackay even if you can make it safely there. So disappointing.

I was seen this week at the dental clinic for urgent extractions and cannot believe the outstanding professional work I recieved, I was treated so well , I felt like a valued patient and left pain free and really happy, I was referred to a local denture clinic instead of travelling to Rockhampton and this was an excellent referral, the dentists and the tech were professional and gentle and I honestly couldn't recommend them highly enough..do not be afraid of the dentist!!!
