The contacts on the battery pack on my Mendota fireplace became corroded thus the unit would not operate without AC power. Even though Embers no longer sells this brand, Mike suggested that an auto parts store would have contact cleaner that might solve the problem. He was correct, so even though there was no sale on his part, Mike has won another satisfied customer.
