Service makes a restaurant & we did not get good service. We were seated, very comfy, place was not particularly busy. Heard a server introduce the specials on the next table. Our server took a drink order promptly. Came back to take our order but didn’t bother with the specials so we asked. We ordered a salad to share & 2 entrees. Food sucked staff was awful.
This was the best meal I’ve had on St. Simons Island in all the years I’ve been traveling here. We had the Green wood fire pizza for an appetizer for the table and it was an amazing crispy crust topped with citrus dressed fresh greens. For the entree I had the fish special. Generous portion, perfectly seared with creamy grits and blackened vegetables. The server was excellent as well. Will definitely return!
We had dinner here recently and we're underwhelmed. The decor feels a bit tired and the food was just ok. We had the steak which was a little tough. Salads and brussel sprouts were good, pizza was ok. Our waiter forgot one of our items, which was probably lucky for us. Would not return.
We went to Ember for the first time while visiting St. Simons Island. We had a wonderful experience. Mike, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Burrata salad as well as the Short rib entree. The bartender made an excellent Martini. We also loved the ambiance of the restaurant. We will definitely be going back next time we visit SSI!
