A close friend has gone several times to Emanuel Hospital for treatment related to her cancer. The awful stories that she told me about this death trap were shocking. When she went to the emergency room for the first time, she left with a hypodermic needle still stuck in her arm. On another occasion, the nurses couldn't find a pillow. Some of the other stuff that happened was too disgusting to mention. If I could award ZERO stars or less, I would. Avoid everything about this location. If you are injured DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL, go to Modesto instead. Their attendees DO NOT listen to their patients. I injured my hand; broken bone. The attendee splinted my wound incorrectly, leading to complications and extending the time of recovery. Just had a surgery done there and the staff was well trained and friendly. For how busy they were they really handled me well and really fast.

Just brought my mom home from a 24 hour odyssey here that started in the ER. Many wonderful nurses & techs, but it's such a poorly run hospital that mom's discharge papers had no info at all, no mention of any treatment she received, or which meds she was given, and no instructions for what to watch for at home -- just a "call your regular doctor" suggestion given verbally on the way out. Not sure what we'll tell mom's regular doctor because we're clear that she had an x-ray and a CT scan, but other than that, we literally h... read more
