I went to the ER and got admitted for gall bladder removal surgery. Dr. Elmer Valin was awful! He didnt clear the duct during surgery which left me in extreme pain for days, and he wanted to just send me home. He thought I was exaggerating the pain, telling me multiple times that ‘he did 5 of those procedures that day and I was the only one still in the hospital’. Within minutes of meeting me he started berating me about the failure of my previous bariatric surgery, even though the surgery I had (gastric band) is notorious for poor outcomes and is falling out of favor due to ineffectiveness. He made the snap judgment that my difficulties were all the result of my personal failings and made no attempt at empathy or kindness.
