We've lived at Ellison for over 2 years now and it has been a great experience. We would have gladly continued here if we weren't leaving the area. The apartments and the building are very new and clean, and amenities are good - you'll enjoy your stay here. The location is good too, right by the Metra station, so you can get to downtown in less than 30 mins. This is such a great community to live in. Everyone, including the neighbors, is so friendly and welcoming, which makes it easy to feel at home. The management team is also fantastic and regularly hosts enjoyable monthly events that create a strong sense of community.
UPDATE: After living at Ellison for a year, I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 2. My partner and I chose not to renew and would not recommend living here. The following are pros and cons, with a breakdown of the cons. Pros: 1. Great, quiet location near the Metra 2. Spacious layouts 3. Clean, high-quality amenities 4. Good community events Cons: 1. I have lived here for three years and seen my rent go up, but quality decline. Management is not friendly and there are constant and prolonged elevator issues. I will not be renewing my lease.
I've lived at The Ellison for the last 4 years. The apartments, staff, location, and amenities are wonderful. The apartments are beautifully updated. The staff are incredible - informative, friendly, and always willing to provide top service. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and effectively. The downtown location is phenomenal. Amenities include a high end fitness center and beautiful pool and deck area. I recently bought a place, which is the only reason I'm leaving. I will miss calling the Ellison home!
