Stopped here in Ellicott City for what I thought would be a simple repair under $50. Instead, I was quoted nearly $2,000.What made it more concerning was that this estimate came directly from the owner/mechanic himself. I understand that additional issues can be found, but this jump didn’t feel transparent. Thankfully, I followed advice I’ve heard for years — always get two or three estimates. I’m very glad I did.Do your research and get a second opinion before approving major repairs. It can save you a lot of money.
