Donelson Hidden Treasure!!! – THis is truly my favorite place to eat in Nashville. I've been eating there for 3 years. It's true that I've had a few issues (undercooked salmon) but they have ALWAYS made it right by free dessert or taking it off our bill. You can not beat the price. If this place was downtown, they could TRIPLE their prices! Try the Salmon and Scallops, it's delicious. Also have a wonderful wine list!!
Wonderful Sunday brunch! – The Sunday brunch is awesome. There is a lot of great food to choose from and I managed to sample everything. I love the individually prepared omelets by Chef Michael. I will definitely go back!
valentines day surprise – Do not go to Ellendales for Valentines Day! My husband and I went last year and everything was great so we decided to come back this year. We made reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes . They hiked the prices up drastically from last year because they were serving a 5 course meal for Valentines Day only. Pleasantly Surprised – I visited this restaurant for the first time about a year ago and wasn't very impressed. I never thought about going back until I was invited to go last night with a friend. Ellendale's was a very cramped restaurant in the past but they've recently added on a new "entertainment dining wing" that is absolutely fabulous. You'd just have to see it for yourself. What a joke!!!! – What a waste of time and money!!!! This has to be the worst dining experience I have ever had. The food was average at best and luke warm when it arrived at the table. The only positive thing the place has going for it is the live entertainment, which is above average but loud. I do not recommend taking anyone you like to this place!!!
disappointing – Too cramped to be very romantic. Our table was less than 1 inch from 2 other tables chairs. Very small table for 2. Trying to get too many people in too small an area. Service was very,very slow. Over 2 hours with a reservation and lots of down time without food. The food was really good, but not worth the time it takes to get it.
entertainment card=expect poor service – I went back for a special occasion with my boyfriend and and am bewildered to what happened to my favorite restaurant. The service is subpar and the dessert sampler we got was barely what it was 2 years ago. When we offered our server the enterrtainment card her face registered the annoyance she made us feel like throughout the dinner. Will not go back if I have the choice of venue for a special occasion.
A little disappointing... – After seeing the 9.9 rating, I was really excited about my Mother's Day brunch. It proved to be disappointing. Our 12:30 reservation allowed us to be seated by 1:15 (and when dining with a toddler, schedules are EVERYTHING!). The service was stretched to the limits, but acceptable. The food was good, though not a very expansive variety. Caution: skip the Bloody Mary. If you order it spicy, they add tobasco, not spices. Not tasty at all.
Wouldn't Know – They just lost over $1500 for my company's dinner. I contacted them for over 2 weeks to set up a work dinner. I got passed around like a collection plate on Sunday. I can't judge their food or ambiance because based on their customer service I won't eat there.
