Great local charm – I have always found ellendales to stand out from the ordinary. The service is friendly and the food is well prepared.
WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD IN A WHILE – My husband and I usually eat at Darfons, which is really good, but they were on an hour an a half wait so we went to Ellendale's because their parking lot was empty. We probably hadn't been there for maybe 2 years because last time we went the food was really cold and we had really bad service.I guess nothings changed. Nice place for a Saturday brunch – I've only ever been to Ellendales for the brunch on Saturday, so I'm not sure how the rest of the menu is. But the five times I've been for the brunch I've been really pleased with the food. I've been with a group of about 7 people and we were taken care of by our waiter. Valentine Dinner Strikes Out – As fans of Ellendale's in the past few years, we made a 7:45 dinner reservation on Valentine's Day. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to the time and the entry foyer was crowded with people who appeared to have been there for a while. The place to dine if you want to waste your money – What the hell has happened to this restaurant?!?! My husband and I used to go there quite often over the years, and it's turned into a real disappointment. If you read this you're led to believe it's a steakhouse. If it is then focus on your meat! Thanksgiving buffet at Ellendale's was outstanding! – I strongly disagree with the review below - the Thanksgiving buffet at Ellendale's this past Thursday was well worth the money. The selections at the various serving stations were outstanding and the food was delicious! The service was absolutely top notch as well. Because of the smallness of my family we decided to go out for Thanksgiving. After a lot of research I decided upon Ellendale's. I was very disappointed by the whole experience. Our 6 PM reservations (made upon the restaurant's request) were not honored until 6:45. When we finally made it into the chaos, which was the buffet stations, we found nothing organized or labeled. Ellendale's has gone downhill – I used to LOVE Ellendale's... it was my very favorite place to go eat lunch (the buffet) for years. But in the past 3 years or so it has really, really gone down hill. The prices went up about 3 times in the past couple of years, which I can totally understand because everything has gone up in price... but the quality of the food has really gone down 10 fold.
