I saw this doctor (who has gone by a couple of other names) back in the mid 2000s when I was around 20-22 years old. I should have left right away due to her horrible bedside manner, but I was young. I was shamed about having multiple partners. (I thought you were supposed to be honest ?!)—should have left. The only positive thing I can say about Dr. Merrick is that she’s knowledgeable — but that’s about the only good quality she has. I’ve never met a doctor who was colder or more dismissive. During our first pregnancy, my wife suffered a miscarriage. While she was still crying and in shock, Dr. Merrick swept away the placenta and told her to “calm down.” It was one of the most insensitive, dehumanizing moments we’ve ever experienced in a medical setting. This is my 2nd visit and every time I go Dr.Merrick is professional and address my needs. (Side note: if you're going to Disney she has some good tips). And can't forget her sweet nurse!
I had a great annual visit with her. She was kind friendly and made me feel calm. Usually I have a lot of anxiety at the drs. Her exams were painless and quick. I asked her honest opinions about things. What I do with that knowledge is up to me to decide.. She seems very knowledgeable which i appreciate more than anything. I will be seeing her again!
If I could give her zero I absolutely would. My last gyno was in Evansville, I wanted a Dr. Closer to home. So I visited Harpole (Merrick) at the Fort Branch location. I heard she didn't have the greatest bedside manners, but I thought "She can't be that bad." I was way wrong. I do not do well during pap exams, I'm very high anxiety, it makes me physically ill.
