My 11 year old started strength and agility training to improve her speed for cross country. Gives her the ability to work on different areas that she doesn’t target during the season. The program is geared more toward other sports but I feel my daughter benefits from mixing up her training. It’s a great introduction to weight training. Coach Elkin arrived as our high school's strength coach in the summer of 1998. He ditched the prior coach's questionable emphasis on olympic lifting and maxing out on weights, developed new regimens for each athletic program which were on the forefront of strength training at the time, and was a master motivator. In four seasons, the football team went from 1-9 to undefeated state champs, even though we ran triple option since we were at a significant weight disadvantage to most our opponents.
