I’ve had a fantastic experience participating in Elite Energy events, including the Tomakin Triathlon, Wollongong Triathlon and the Husky 10K. Each event has been well organised, professionally run and supported by a great atmosphere from the volunteers, staff and local community. The courses are enjoyable, the communication is clear, and there is always a welcoming environment for athletes of all experience levels. The experience of completing the runway half marathon was a once in a lifetime experience. But in terms of race organization, Elite Energy completely dropped the ball. The half marathon course came close to a full 1km short of 21.1km. For an organization that puts on events regularly, this is nothing short of unacceptable, especially given that many runners have trained months for this event. Overall, this event was very poorly organized and an error of this magnitude could have been easily prevented.
The airport run was great! I had to come back and change my review from one star to 5 stars. There was plenty of parking in the end. The run went really smoothly. Not sure why we had to book parking. Nobody scanned QR codes. Either way the Runway run was a great morning! Thanks!
