This doctor is on call for Dr. Healy and my parents called him for an urgent appt for MS induced muscle spams (my dad has MS and is a retired doctor himself and both of my parents graduated from MUSC themselves). The office was unhelpful, not friendly and refused to see my dad for an appt. Just told them to go to ER when this is not an ER visit. I can see why this doctor has bad reviews. MUSC you should be better than this! Embarrasing!
Worst doctor and office Ive ever been too. After seeing this dr for years, meds were never adjusted, I had to ask for the 2 x rays I received. The dr told me several times I wasn't old enough for him to fix the problem, but he never told me what the problem was. I reached out for something for nausea after having a migraine for 3 days and not able to eat and the nurse told me to call my GP because this dr couldn't prescribe it to me because he hadn't prescribed it for a couple years. I was a patient of Dr Owens in 2018 and have been receiving disability and healthcare benefits due to I have a seizure disorder. I not only have seizures but a history of seizures and take prescribed medication for them and they continue to see neurologist. However, during that time, Doctor, Owens stated to me that I was too young to be on disability, and I could work, and he reached out to Social Security administration and told them that I no longer needed Benefits and my benefits were cut off. Dr. Owens listened to my concerns. However, I felt as if he didn’t take account of the issues and attempt to research potential problems & treatments. Currently in search of a second opinion.
