Did not take long to get an appointment after a referral was obtained from PCP. Appointment was on time. Staff was friendly. Neurological condition discussed with recommendation of additional testing at UPMC Neurology Department in Pittsburgh.
My experiences with Dr. Elewar were unfortunately not very helpful. He doesn’t seem to care about his patients thought or concerns and only wants to prescribe medication without any proof of what is wrong. Secondly he kept pushing brain surgery still without knowing what was wrong. He would also disrespectfully speak directly to my wife about me, instead of talking to me, while I was in the room. Keep in mind that I was the patient. Overall he isn’t a very good person/neurologist to deal with.
Dr Elawar and his assistant were absolutely amazing!!! I was diagnosed with MS by Dr Elawar in the hospital. I used a different neurologist in the beginning, but after numerous run-arounds I was able to switch to Dr Elawar!!! Best decision Ive made!!! He and his assistant worked quickly to help me through my relapse and have been there any time I've needed them!!! They honestly have a great team of caring professionals!!!
Complete and total waste of a dr Refuses to help based on the fact that someone has a history of concussions .
