I recently rented an RV from Salt Lake City and drove to Yellowstone National Park, so I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering a similar trip. The initial quote was somewhat misleading because it only reflected the base RV rental price. Was a great experience with a nice RV and accommodating staff. Did seem to have a lot of add ons that we had not experienced at our last several RV rentals. But we would definitely rent from them again
It took me 300 dollars to find out how predatory and awful this company is. Almost 200 dollars a day, .37+ cents a mile and still they expect you to refill propane, clean it, dump tanks and pick up/drop off when they tell you. No refund period, not if you cancel, not if you buy extra miles.. No other industry, not even the airlines or the rental car industry treat you so awful or have policies so predatory. Run don't walk from this foreign owned company. El monte rv is not veteran friendly.
The process of renting the RV was overall good. Our RV did have an issue with the batteries holding a charge but El Monte quickly got it taken care of with a shop at our destination and they paid the shop directly for the repairs. They also gave us a bit of compensation for the troubles. The employee at the SLC location was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great time in rv and it was very nice,clean and everything worked great. Lotts if living area room Made great memories with my boyfriend and grandson. I will do it again next summer.
