Pros: El Charros salsa is nearly the gold standard, IMO. They have the finest carne seca in AZ, sun-dried in cages on the roof daily. Cons: Wacky psudo-gourmet angle, overpriced, clueless waitstaff, huge crowds, zero flexibiliy if you like to custom order. Overall: Get a carne seca quesadilla to go, with plenty of salsa, and skip the hassle of this tourist trap.
The downtown El Charro is my favorite of all the El Charro locations. They are in a historic old home and have the best sun dried Carne Seca. It is a neat place to eat anytime but very busy. If you dont mind the wait, its a great place to eat and well worth it.
