In 1881, F. H. Eilenberger's parents left their home in Leipzig, Germany and sailed to America to pursue their dream in the new land of opportunity.In May of 1898, young 21-year-old F. H. opened a bakery in tiny Palestine, Texas. Along with his hopes and dreams, F. H. also tucked away an old family recipe for fruitcake. when i walked into the bake shop for the first time, i didn,t know i would always be a fan!!! i ordered a couple of cookies and marveled at the homemade taste! whenever i took a stroll downtown Palestine, i always stopped to buy a cookie or two.After i moved across the country i continued to order the cookies and thier famous fruitcake for my mom. she says their fruitcake is by far the BEST she ever tasted!!!...
