Amazing program and supportive counsellors. My brother went to treatment at this facility a few months back. He was struggling with alcoholism and was in denial for quite a few years. He was unable to attend inpatient treatment because he could not take time off of work, and being a father. Edgewood saved my life. I was brought to Edgewood through my ex-husband and his alcoholism. I went to the family program called Insite! This course changed my life!! This program was the catalyst for the amazing life I have today. After the one-week program in Nanaimo, I attended the Insite aftercare in Vancouver for 2 years. They literally saved my life and gave me the tools to save myself. I attended Nanaimo in-resident care for 58 days and then aftercare in Van and Vic. You have to brave and honest otherwise you won’t be successful.
I attended Edgewood in Nanaimo and used their after care program in Vancouver. It was not “fun” - it was hard, and they were hard on me - and thank goodness - I am grateful. If you want to get well, and you do what they suggest, your odds are good. But it is up to you, not them, to make it work. They do a good job of giving you the tools to recover, but you have to use them.
