This is probably the most authentic Chinese food in Eau Claire and I've been to China twice! It looks like it would be a third rate establishment but the food is wonderful.
One of my favorite spots! I do actually agree with the person who wrote about eating plastic. I had the same thing happen to me a few times too in my eggrolls and stuffed chicken wings. Other than that, I think the food is really good. The person who said they were a chef and the food is authentic....well, I do love the food but it's definitely not the most authentic Hmong food around. Poor service on food safety. I bought food from this place many times since it opened, and for the first time today, when I was eating a stuffed chicken wing, there was a really really big piece of plastic in the chicken. I was eating it, and all of a sudden, I took the piece out with my fingers, and there was the big plastic. I called to let them know about it, and the owner was just like, okay, well, is there anything else you would like to say about it? The ghetto review is a "BAD WRAP!" Those who know me, know that I tend to be critical when it comes to food. I am a chef myself and know good food when I taste it.
Authentic Hmong Cooking Egg Rolls Plus is owned and operated by a local Hmong family. This is great, but remember--the food here is not in anyway Americanized. They use a lot of fish and oyster sauces, and while the menu is very diverse, the way in which foods are prepared is not. Therefore, keep in mind that the flavors here all have a subtle fish flavor, and can be very spicy. The atmosphere isn't that great, but don't let keep you away. Dinner is very reasonable too, with most dishes costing around $7 a plate.
