They changed it. What used to be a Tucson staple stopped doing what they are good at. They were so good that they didn't need to compete. I have kids that now n live out of state and when they come home this is the first place they want to eat. Not anymore.
Eegee’s is great but they took 40 min to serve us our food in store. Many people just turned around and left the store when I told them how long we have waiting. All this time they served endless cars through the drive thru. We were told they are scored on how fast they move the drive thru. Terrible plan serve in one line and lose customers in the other.
I have been eating EG’s sandwiches since the mid 70s when I actually worked at EG’s when I was going to school. I thought I would have a hot Italian grinder tonight went and ordered the original. That thing doesn’t taste anything like the original pretty poor sandwich I think the bread is part of it and They’ve strayed so far from the original sandwich you shouldn’t even call it a EG‘s grinder.
Delicious as always. Update: still delicious!
