Unlike some of the other reviewers, I have had very positive experiences with Kalmus this past year. Philip has been very responsive to emails, always within 1-3 business days, and has met or exceeded any deadlines I have had as an orchestra librarian. Many of the available orchestra parts are edited by Nieweg/Bradburd, and definitely a step up from what you can print from imslp in terms of accuracy and legibility. Some glitches in their online system, but this seems true of the other publishers as well. Prices are very comp... read more

I have been waiting 5-1/2 months for my music to arrive.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Not the first time my order arrived after more than two weeks but I kept going back hoping each time would be different. Sheet music that has Kalmus name on it should be avoided at all costs. Too many mistakes, and the "good" versions are the ones that simply copied from original editions, acquired at some point by Kalmus. Unfortunately, Kalmus is making newer "editions" of those good ones, adding more mistakes, and changing some unnecessary details that make the score look worse. I am not sure what is accomplished by such poor job. in terms of editing.

Basically they sell cheap and nasty musics, but sometimes they have important critical editions, like some scores of Borodin, Saint-Saens, Dvorak, Richard Strauss, and so on. You have to know exactly what you want, otherwise you would become a irresponsible musician and waste your money for those immaculate musics.
