i went to try and get help with my mental health and all i got was verbally attacked told o was annoying and a liar, after which he said he wouldn't see me again which he not wrong but the reason is he is very unprofessional unpleasant and makes you feel unsafe do not see him if you're a man woman or child unless you want to feel degraded attacked and scared.
In a very complicated health system, where it takes up to four months to make appointment as a "new patient" in Manhattan, and insurance won't cover 99% of mental health cases for those who work 60+ hours a week, I feel so grateful to have found Dr. Farkas. He and his wonderful secretary Donna went above and beyond to accommodate my search for an appointment with efficiency and ease. He has a very clear, friendly and pleasant bedside manner and very warm, easy to talk to! Highly recommend!
Went for 1st time medication visit. My past dr. retired. Dr. Farkas Took me off meds i was on for years...switched to others...When I called him after a month for a refill because i was spinning out of control...He yelled at me on the phone and said he will not be my drug dealer and not to call him anymore...1 Visit...
not compassionate. okay if you have no problems; had difficulty with getting medicare card and had to skip an appointment giving plenty of advance notice. then i fractured my back and needed a refill of Xanax; i spoke to the secretary about it and had pharmacy call the doctor's office as per secretary's direction. i received a very nasty call from dr. saying he doesn't care if i can't get out of bed to see him he won't renew prescription and i should get another doctor. you decide.
