Excellent first time visit and experience at the Edward Jenner Unit Phlebotomy Department this morning. I was seen quickly and bloods were taken skilfully and painlessly; which is a first in the past 26 years of my numerous blood tests ! Considerate staff from the moment I entered the Building and spoke to the volunteers on the front desk to ask for directions, then the receptionist in the clinic and finally the Phlebotomist herself. Since achieving senile doddery gitness, I've spent quite some time in the Jenner. The staff have always been polite, welcoming and professional. Those complaining should remember that this is a turn up and go service. There is no booking, it's all first come first serve. I've never waited more than 40 mins, even when all seats are taken by those in front of me. Thanks guys. Take no notice of the moaners.
Easy parking straight in
Total disgrace. Completely overcrowded and nowhere to sit. Only two or three phlebotomist working. An absolute nightmare. The last time we had to wait over two and a half hours in the cold noisy corridor. You get a better service in a third world country. Since Covid the department went totally downhill. Cheltenham the same, but more comfortable. Not so cold in the sitting area.
Arrived at the Clinic 2 weeks ago for a blood test as requested by my RGH consultant because my GP's Practice has stopped doing them on behalf of the hospital's consultants and was asked if I had a letter. Yes I replied it is on my mobile. Not acceptable was the off hand response from the receptionist: the hospital in a header to my letter said it operated a paperless environment where ever possible.
