Why don’t people understand that this is not a main generating power plant. It is the overflow power plant that uses natural gas and turbine engines to produce extra power for the city when everybody is running their AC in the middle of the summer. Natural gas is one of the cleanest burning fuels that exist. Otherwise the vast majority of our power grid comes from solar and other renewable sources.

Each year, this gas-burning power plant spews millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere, heating it up and making your life suck. NV Energy owns this monster and says it will not replace it with inexpensive solar energy. Why? Because NV Energy's investors would not make as much money. Rise up people.

Each year, this plant burns hundreds of thousands of tons of carbon into the atmosphere, heating it up and causing the climate to change. NV Energy owns this monster and says it will not replace it with inexpensive solar energy because stockholders would not make as much of a return on their investment. Rise up people.
