Worth a try – Went to Ed's Lobster bar last night and sat at the bar. I ordered the sauvignon blanc which was very good. Also ordered the mussels and striped bass while my boyfriend got the lobster roll. There was a TON of lobster in the lobster roll, more than enough for one person. The mussels were the best I have ever had. The striped bass was a little lacking. The veggies and potatoes it came with were pretty bad and the actual fish was fresh but lacking any additional flavor. Overall, I did think it was expensive for wh... read more

Dear: uneedtogetalife – These are just opinions from people who've eaten here, it's not their fault they didn't find the experience pleasant. You're probably a friend of the owner and is upset that the reviews have been negative so far. I've been to Ed's and I do agree with the reviews, it's not recommended for the price and food along with the lack of eating space.

dunno, not too impressed – I understand that restaurants take a few months to adjust but it was just ...not good. the service was so so, not informative and no idea how to present the dishes. The lobster roll was more mayo and celery than lobster meat, the lob. pie was bland and watery and we were rushed out, "we have people waiting so if you're done, can you pay your check now?" was what we were told. I can't rec. this place right now, I hope they step it up a notch or they may not be around.

I love this place – I've been twice and food could not have been better and service was above and beyond. Its a lobster bar people! If you want someone to kiss your a** go to a Danny Meyer restaurant.

Do NOT Waste your Money. Like they said, Red Lobster looks good compared to this experience. – I had read bad reviews on this place and still decided to check it out for myself. I should've trusted the reviews and saved my money --- don't make the same mistake I did. They did a great job creating a great space out of this tiny narrow restaurant. Great ambiance. Great Caesar's salad. And that's where it ends. Overwhelmingly, it was the service or "arrogant" poor service that pushed it over to the DO NOT RETURN column. Just wh... read more

We had a nice meal here! – My two friends and I were a bit worried after reading other reviews, but we soldiered on anyway. To avoid late-evening madness, we arrived at 6:30 on a Wednesday. It was disconcerting to hear that since our party was under four, we HAD to sit at the bar. ("It's called Ed's Lobster BAR!" the maitre d' explained.) We were concerned that chatting and dining three in a row would be awkward, but after craning our necks to inspect the larger parties stuffed into the tiny dining space in the back, we agre... read more

Ed's: A raw deal. – I went to Eds with an open mind and left with an upset stomach and a much lighter wallet. I was ambivalent but my friend wanted to try it. we sat at the bar, which was nice-if a bit squished. i ordered the muscadet, at six dollars a glass it was a decent bargain. then we looked over the menu. the prices were pretty outrageous for most things but i ordered the lobster chef salad which was listed as an entree. i should have known this was not good when i asked for salad dressing and was told they didn't hav... read more

Not a great roll – I went in last night to try their signature dish, the lobster roll, it was heavy on the mayo with not much lobster meat, a bit dissapointing. I'm not a foodie type, but I do eat at enough different places to know that the food there was average at best (at least the lobster roll was).

Super – I thought the Lobster roll had a ton of lobster and very little mayo. The atmosphere was excellent and the decor was inviting. The wine list was diverse and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
