Best Lobster Roll in town! – I went to Ed's on a Friday afternoon and I was impressed by the friendly staff, the decor, and most of all, the simple, but tasty menu. Ed's has the best lobster roll in town, the lobster was fresh, it had the perfect amount of mayo and chives. I was hesitant at first, I do not like celery, but Ed McFarland was absolutely right when he mentioned that I wouldn't taste the celery. The fries were crispy, tasty, and fresh. The Caesar's salad was far better than Pearl's (too garlicky for my taste). Th... read more

If you havent been here dont go....so I dont have to wait for a table!!!!! – This place is actually well worth any wait or line or whatever. So eat at the bar a table or curbside if they let you (kidding)! I was there on the opening night and my girlfriend and I try to eat there at least twice a month. The prices are completely reasonable and for the most part a non factor. Not only is the food top notch in my opinion but the staff is extremely friendly! Considering the place has been mobbed everytime I have been there, not ... read more

Amazing Lobster Roll – I've spent a lot of time in Maine and North Shore Boston and I eat lobster rolls religiously. To put it simply, Ed's Lobster Roll may have been the best lobster roll I have ever had. The bun was soft, rich and buttery and the lobster salad was simple-- a little mayo, chive and lemon. The lobster was overflowing from the bun and could have fed two people. All in all, I look forward to coming back to Ed's to try the fried clams especially... and another lobster roll!

Did not meet my expectations... but good service – Had high expectations, of course, after Pearl. Well, I started off with the steamers, which were quite good as steamers go. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with the lobster roll. I'd never before had the following thought about a lobster roll: "Too... much... lobster..." Insufficient mayonnaise and, apparently, little BUT mayonnaise (and maybe a couple of chives) in the mix at all. Hello? TASTE?? Lotsa lobster doth not a lobster roll make -- the whole MIX does, th... read more

Grilled Fish & Clam chowder – We've walked by this place a couple of times after it was open but it was always after we had dinner. We finally decided to go on a Thursday night and the place was packed. Luckily, there were two seats available on the side bar. We ordered 6 little neck and 6 oyster to start. The clams were a little bit disappointing in comparison to Pearl Oyster Bar in the West Village. I ordered the grilled bass and my boyfriend ordered the lobster roll. The bass was very good and it was enormous!! I didn't g... read more

Don't bother – Wouldn't recommend this place. OK (and expensive) food. Inexperienced waitress who's inaccurate descriptions added to the misery. Cramped uncommfortable seating. I went to this webpage to review this restaurant, and found bad reviews galore! No shock here. The waitress effusively recommended the mussels in the dijon horseradish sauce, it wasn't a taste sensation, barely edible. Linguini and clam sauce was mediocre, too spicy-hot and inaccurately described by the waitress. Enjoyed the lobster roll. But not enou... read more

good lobster roll and gillred hallibut filet – i'd never had a lobster roll before, lobster chunks served inside a hot dog bun, nice beers too. my buddy and i split the lobster roll and the grilled hallibut, 6 oysters to start, 2 beers a piece, we spent 54 each after tax and tip. fun experience, the place was packed, the servers at the community bar were cute girls.

A Pearl Oyster Bar alum nets his own upscale fish shack in Soho. – The Scene The long narrow space fills up quickly with neighborhood seafood-seekers and followers of chef Ed McFarland, formerly of Pearl Oyster. The look is seaside-chic, with slate-colored walls, a white marble bar and a few more casual gestures like chalkboard menus. Bar seats are packed so tightly, you'll feel like you're actually on a ship. The Food The menu meshes boardwalk and upscale eatery preparations. The hefty lobster roll nearly justifies the dish... read more
