Our very first consultation with starting our ivf journey. We were both so nervous but optimistic. She was referred by our gp as she was close to us. To say she was insensitive was an understatement. My husband Jamie-Leigh and I were attending the clinic regularly. We moved to the male fertility specialist at Edgewater. Told us that his sperm was too low, requiring IVF ICSI. Unfortunately, was told on 2 occasions to come back in 3 months as I needed to lose weight to commence anything. Left appointments with my husband feeling down and made decision to move to Stellar Fertility in Fitzroy with Dr Knight. During the appointment with Dr. Thu Mai, I found her behaviour to be rude, insensitive, and highly unprofessional. Instead of focusing on my medical concerns, she started commenting on my personal life, which were neither relevant nor helpful to my situation. This left me feeling judged, dismissed, and deeply uncomfortable. As a patient, I expect to be treated with respect, dignity, and empathy and I found none. Dr. Thu Mai is, without question, one of the most compassionate and attentive doctors I’ve ever encountered. After years of struggling with female health issues, she resolved everything in a single visit. She arranged all the necessary tests promptly and finally put an end to the pain I’d been living with for far too long. I truly can’t recommend her highly enough!
Dr Thu Mai was very understanding and helped me with my problem professionally and quickly. She performed my surgery and explained everything along the way throughout my surgery. The operation saved my life. Follow up afterwards has been a fast recovery for me and she has been my Doctor for 10 years now. She always takes her time to listen and discuss your situation.
