Not the same place it used to be years ago. Horrible experience!! My poor dog took a fall and hurt her back. I brought her there strictly for an evaluation for acupuncture which Dr Barnes informed me he really just did that to "add it to his quiver" so I guess he doesn't do it anymore. So he wanted to Xray my girl who weighs 70lbs and I asked do you want us to carry her back there? He said no I have "strapping" staff who can handle it. Then in walk the geriatric crew with towels. By the time I left there she could not walk a... read more
A real nightmare I brought my elderly cat to Edgefield for about 3 years for routine care, but when she got sick they couldn't help her or give a proper diagnosis. She was having so many problems and she was uncomfortable so I made the difficult decision to bring her in for euthanasia. They assured me it would be done immediately. Almost three days later, I got a call from Dr. Barnes saying he had consulted with her regular vet and they decided NOT to euthanize her and would I consider having them find a new home for her. ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY MONEY GRUBBERS. I had my two dogs seen by the vet for skin issues. The vet recommended my dog be put on Brevecto. I was supposed to pick it up that day but because of a financial pinch I was in I had to put it off two weeks. I came back to pick it up and the receptionist told me that I had to pay AGAIN for a wellness visit in order to get the Brevecto!!! She tried telling me it was the law and when I called her on that she said " Well, its an ethical issue" I dont understand how it could an ethical issu... read more
Very Happy I Switched to this Practice! I have been going to this place for about 3 yrs. I feel the staff really tries to do what is best for my pet. It is very nice to deal with people that seem to have a passion for what they do! I originally hestitated switching to this vet because they are a little more expensive on some things than my last place, but it is definitely not worth saving a few bucks to go somewhere else...these guys are great and have me as a customer for life!!!
Great Vets & Staff! I have been going to Edgefield for about 10 yrs now and really like this practice. Dr. Barnes and Dr.Lebowitz are both really great vets. They both take the time to answer all my questions and really care about my pet. It is also nice to see the same support staff that has been there for years. I think Cindy has been there since they opened and she is always pleasant to deal with and knowledgable. The girl that works out back and does nail clippings is very nice as well. I would not hesitate to recommende... read more
Caring and compasionate Our 16.5 year old Cocker Spaniel spent his last months with a heart ailment, a spinal issue and in a wheel chair. Our own vet in Salem recommended Dr Barnes for acupuncture as a last resort to alleviate his discomfort. While it was too late for our little guy, the care and compassion that the doctor showed was genuine and very much appreciated. He gave us honest and sensible advice, did not in any way try and keep us "on the hook" and we will never forget him for his care. Would recommend him to anyon... read more
Exceptional Care! I feel this is a great animal hospital. I just joined insider pages and feel compelled to write my first review about this place because of the comments made by Heather. I have one pet that I take here. I find the staff to always be helpful and friendly. I find the vets to be personable and not burned out as I found at my last vet. I receive services there and pay for them. Why is it the responsibility of the vet to pay for your animal's care? If you can't afford them you shouldn't own them. It's funny how ... read more
Long-term customer appreciates care Fantastic veterinary service! We have been using Edgefield for nearly 25 years, with 5 cats (two deceased - one from kidney failure, one from diabetes) of whom 3, one small kitten, one middle-aged cat with thyroid disease, and one healthy 24-year-old cat, are currently under their care. They have always seen us promptly and have done everything possible to keep our pets happy and healthy. Their prices are compatible with other area vets, and the staff is absolutely fantastic - everyone is ... read more
Nasty Record Info and Poor Care I took my 3 cats here for 5 yrs. Just for shots really. I have been bringing one of my cats there since April for a stomach problem and still have no diagnoses. I am going to another vet and needed her records. It's a good thing that I read them! A woman who works at the desk wrote conversations about billing in my cats medical records!! These comments made me sound like some horrible person. Many things were untrue, I was shocked!! What would this new vet have thought? These people should lea... read more
