The inner decorum of this library resembles that of a 90s sitcom. Some may view this as a deterrent, as nothing more than wasted space; the final stage of a collapsed ecosystem, fervently anticipating a renovation. Some may never step foot in King for its interior does not fulfill their minimalist, modernist idea of what a library should look like. Visited on a snowy, cold Saturday morning at 8 am and was the only visitor in the building. This is not a research library as 3 of the 4 floors have been repurposed for classrooms and “informal gathering/seating areas.” There are a number of quiet study rooms and areas with study carrels so you can get some work done. Only one floor still has book stacks/shelves which reveals the functional reality of the building.
