My wife and I have been on many tours, in many towns, thru the years, but we both agreed that this one was the best. Chris did a great job, not only sharing lots of the sorts of historical facts you could read about in brochures, but also offering the perspective of someone who grew up there, went away, and came back to a place he obviously loves. We only wish it had been a little longer. 🙂
They did the impossible by keeping my 6, 12, and 14 year old kids engaged for a full hour! The driver and tour guide were both incredibly friendly and engaging. It was fascinating to learn about the unique history of Edenton. They thoughtfully highlighted the early accomplishments of the town’s women from a political perspective, presented in a way that was informative without being too political. Toured the city for one hour on an old Trolley. The driver, Clayton was super friendly and funny. The tour guide Bonnie was super knowledgeable about the history of Edenton. I would say this is a must do activity while visiting the area.
Very interesting and informative. Rightfully so, the people of Edenton are very proud of the history of their community. There was a lot more emphasis on local businesses than I expected given the huge amount of history of the town.
So much fun! Our tour guide (Katherine, I believe) was from a longtime Edenton family & she shared town history as well as personal knowledge! It was so much nicer than a tour guide just sharing facts. I recommend one of the earlier tours in your day/trip so you can get an easy lay of the town & information on where you would like to further explore.
