My wife has been a patient in Eden Private Hospital, three times in the past seven months. Total hip replacement in Feb 25, total hip replacement May 25 and total knee replacement Aug 25. Myself I was a patient for rehab purpose in Feb 25 as well. So I can honestly write that we have some experience staying at Eden Private Hospital in 2025 between the two of us. The Nursing Staff Social Worker and Doctors were top class in the Mental Health Ward .I was very fortunate to have Doctor Moss as a psychiatrist as she was very caring and helped me alot..However halfway during my 4 week stay the Manager announced that the Mental Health Ward was closing.This created uncertainty amongst patients and was very unsettling.For my last two weeks we had no phycologist and minimal group therapy .I was very disappointed with the way they handled their new direction of the hospital .

If you are an ENACTED EPOA for a family member and live 2 hours away from the hospital, don't expect much communication as they presume the hand over records from the previous public hospital were correct, which they were not. The original doctor who promised me the world for mum went on leave. I was provided with 2 people who were my "go to" people for queries. When I did, they would only have half the answers if any. My experience in the mental health unit was just horrible. I had an admission in January after suffering a lot over the Christmas period. I admitted on a Friday and the admitting nurse was lovely, but it was downhill after that. After my admitting nurse had gone home, I found the other nurses had no interest in you and wouldn't even come to your room.
