On my way from Phoenix to Joshua Tree when my driver side front wheel bearings blew out on I-10 from overheating. Fortunately I was close to the Desert Center turnoff which is a popular spot among Semi truckers for overnight parking. I was able to spend the night near the abandoned cafe and was towed to Eddie’s shop the next morning. The outer wheel bearing had gotten so hot it had fused to the spindle.
